Spencer Anderson, LCSW

Education & Experience:

Spencer Anderson has been providing attachment and family focused therapy in the northern Colorado region since 2007. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah in 2004 and his graduate degree from Colorado State University in 2007. Spencer worked for North Range Behavioral Health in 2006, Mental Health Partners of Boulder and Broomfield Counties from 2007-2015 and has been in private practice since 2015. 

Spencer has extensive experience in collaborating with child protection caseworkers, guardians ad litem, as well as Foster and Kinship Support Workers. Over the course of his career, he has worked with parents, foster parents, kinship parents and adoptive parents to increase attachment and trust as well as to address behavioral concerns in their children.

• 2012 Development of parenting program and program manual based on Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy: Lead parenting group based on this curriculum.

• 2011 Resiliency Champion, Foothills Behavioral Health. 

Areas of Specialty:

Spencer has a passion for families impacted by adoption, trauma, and attachment related challenges. He has completed multiple trainings in the areas of attachment and trauma-informed care. He possesses certifications in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy-Attachment Focused Family Therapy, EMDR, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
